Groanbox at The Kings Place Arts Centre, Kings Cross, London
The North American trio of Paul Clifford, Cory Seznec, and Michael Ward-Bergeman, are a musical hybrid of ideas and ideals. At first glance a roots band steeped in the traditions of American music, they play with all the guts of rock and roll and all the soul of the wandering troubadour. But somewhere along the way, that troubadour turned off the road and, setting sail from the melting pot of New Orleans, began a journey that would take their music to new, unchartered territories.

Shep Woolley at The Village Pump Folk Club, Trowbridge, Wiltshire
"A great all round entertainer who has travelled the world taking his own special brand of humour to the far outposts of civilization. This man is a legend in his own lifetime as a folk singer, radio presenter, actor, stand up comedian, raconteur and expert on all matters maritime. His songs range from hilarious parodies to those that combine incisive humour with an underlying understanding of more serious matters."

James Keelaghan at The Ram Folk Club, Thames Ditton, Surrey
"A welcome return for this internationally renowned Canadian singer/songwriter. As soon as JAMES takes the stage and you hear the first few guitar chords and that warm, sure voice, you get that ‘everything's-all-right’ feeling. Like fellow compatriots Robbie Robertson of The Band and the much-missed Stan Rogers, James draws from the rich traditions, history, triumphs and tragedies of his home land, creating a powerful on-going narrative that combines Folk and Canadiana. Not afraid to dip his toes into the waters of politics, social issues and universal emotions his brilliantly-powerful, evocative songs are delivered in that rich baritone voice that 'soothes, seduces and packs a punch'! His latest album features 10 new songs, including co-writes with Karine Polwart and David Francey, so expect some of these and lots of favourites too"

The Eilen Jewel Band and Carrie Rodriguez at The Old Town Hall, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire
Eilen Jewel is touring in support of her new CD ‘Queen of the Minor Key’ which is also her first album to feature a significant number of guest players, even as she continues to work in close consort with her long-time trio of drummer Jason Beek, guitarist Jerry Miller, and upright bassist Johnny Sciascia. .... Love and family have always been sources of inspiration for critically acclaimed singer/songwriter/musician Carrie Rodriguez, but never have they featured so prominently than on her current release ‘Love & Circumstance’, a covers album that includes songs written by her father, and once performed by her great aunt. Rodriguez' journey from teenage violin student to touring the world with the likes of Chip Taylor (famed songwriter of "Wild Thing), Lucinda Williams and Alejandro Escovedo, has resulted in a prodigious output of recordings - eight albums in as many years

The Young’uns at Frodsham Folk Club, Frodsham, Cheshire

Clive Gregson at Carlisle Folk & Blues Club, Carlisle
“Clive is an accomplished singer, songwriter and musician and record producer, who has toured and recorded with artists such as Richard Thompson, Nanci Griffiths, Eddi Reader, Boo Hewerdine and Christine Collister. Clive's live shows are solo performances and the guitar skills that prompted Guitar magazine to include him in their "1,000 Great Guitarists" are always well in evidence."

James Hollingsworth at The Radway Inn, 1 Radway Place, Sidmouth, Devon. EX10 8PY
"James Hollingsworth’s main stage set on the Saturday afternoon of the festival ranged from what was grounded in the traditional – a voice buzzing in the ear, the familiar plucked guitar – to what seemed to border on the celestial, as both voice and a much effected, but delicately measured, acoustic guitar swept back and forth across the arena. James’ performance was captivating…truly so, as many followed him to the intimate surroundings of the Bar Stage later in the afternoon, where an equally diverse mixture of songs and styles was in evidence." - Abbey Mill Folk Festival, 2006
