The Maypole Band
"The Maypole band are a group of acoustic musicians who have been providing music for barn dances for years & years, some of the members have been performing at these event since the 1960's. If you are stuck for ideas to provide enjoyable but alternative entertainment for an event then contact the Maypole band. The group, whilst acoustic, does provide good quality amplification & they have their own dance 'caller' who will select dances suitable for the skill level of the dancers & will, as the evening unfolds, teach more complex dances."
"Known for being particularly lively and playing with more swing than you can expect of a more staid barn dance band, the band also perform songs and tunes between dances to keep the entertainment going. Usually a 4 piece or, by arrangement, a 5 piece band, the emphasis is firmly on fun rather than serious barn dance expertise."
