York based Acoustic Duo
| Dogsbody Ceilidh Band|
"If you're looking for a high energy Celtic Celidh Barn in the Yorkshire/Lancashire area - Look no further!"
One thing you can be sure of is that at the end of a Shinjig ceilidh you will be exhausted and happy. Ok, so there's two things of which you can be sure.
Led by superb fiddle playing Shinjig combine traditional and original tunes with irresistable, toe-tapping rhythms. The band's five members have years of experience to produce the Shinjig sound. The result has wowed audiences from students' unions to wedding parties, folk festivals and charity gigs.

"Martin has been entertaining with his songs and fine guitar playing for 35 years on the West Yorkshire folk scene. He began his musical interest as a teenager by first learning the harmonica before progressing to the acoustic guitar. Through the years this has led him to master the mandolin, tenor banjo and bohran often used in accompanying fellow musicians. In the last few years Martin has written 23 songs, published two CDs and is working on his third. Martin has an extensive repertoire, which includes lively Irish, contemporary folk, gentle ballads and his self-penned songs, which always prove popular."

We are a young, lively English ceilidh band based in Sheffield, UK. We play for English dancing with a wide repertoire of tunes from around the British Isles and Europe.
We regularly play for various private events such as weddings, birthday parties and social events. We come with our own caller, PA system (fully PAT tested) and sound engineer. The band and caller are equally happy to provide ceilidhs both for audiences who are completely new ceilidh dancing and for those who are more experienced dancers. The full band consists of five musicians but we are also available as a 3 or 4-piece lineup.

"Although very well established in America, house concerts are a relatively new concept here in the U.K. They offer a chance to see great artists who are often only over in the country for a very short time. Without all the complications of agents, managers, p.a. and hall hire, it means that we can work at pretty short notice.
A House Concert is a private party for which you are sent a personal invite and is not a public music venue.
All donations are madebefore the show and people are not able to just turn up uninvited."
